Special Education

Allen Village ensures a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment for students eligible for special education or Section 504. Students must qualify in one of Missouri’s thirteen eligibility categories to be eligible for special education. Once eligible, an individual education plan (IEP) is developed by the IEP team. Students receive IEP services from highly qualified teachers and related services staff. Students with documented medical concerns may be eligible under Section 504 for appropriate modifications and/or accommodations in the general education setting. Parents who suspect their child may have a disability or may qualify for a Section 504 Plan should contact the special education department at 816-931-0177 or any Allen Village staff member.

Child Find

The State of Missouri requires that all children with disabilities who live in the state and may need special education and/or related services are identified, located, and evaluated.
